Caitlin's Graduation and Tyler's first Birthday

Caitlin represented the 10th and final grandchild to graduate from high school. They have all made it! Caitlin was the only girl and hence the only one to graduate from Notre Dame. So finally, Arlene and I have a member of the family to be an alumnae with us. Becky and Andrea also graduated from / are attending good old NDB, but not any of the kids from the Oliver Lavezzo side. Thanks Caitlin for putting us on the map. Not only did she graduate on Saturday, but her softball team won CCS in softball. Of all our kids, if I am adding correctly, 8 went to CCS or CIF in a high school sport, only one was able to get the final prize. Good job KT.

On Monday we went to a park in Newark to celebrate Tyler's first birthday. He had fun on his little car and being passed around from one adoring aunt / uncle / grandparent / cousin, etc. to another. The weather was just perfect. Besides the jumper being "late" everything went just perfectly. Many of the children and several of the adults had fun in it though, once it finally arrived. Tyler enjoyed the feast his parents provided and the little cake that was his alone. Presents were fun, but paper and boxes were even better. On to year two...

May is a busy month

Last weekend was Mothers' Day and the whole family dined at Arlene and Bob's home. Everyone always brings something so none of the Moms have to do a lot. It was a pleasant day in the yard and we all feasted on Bob's barbequed faire. No he did not burn it; the meat was cooked to perfection.
This week was a busy one for me and my family since Joe and Jody baptized Aiden on Saturday. The party was at my house since he was baptized at St. Gregory by Fr. Joe...yes, the same priest who married them. John and Kia stood up as godparents and the ceremony was beautiful. Aiden was as good as gold.
We were also celebrating John's graduation from SF State. He actually graduated in December, but an outside party is better for my house.
And Brian, Heather, and Peyton came up for the festivities. I had not seen Peyton since his birthday weekend and he is certainly becoming a "big boy": walking and talking and curious about everything. He was really interested in the other little people: Aiden and Tyler, and his other cousins: Stephanie, Brian and A.J. The weather was beautiful and a good time was had by all. Here are a few shots. I will post more when I get some more pictures from Joe and Jody.
