Peyton Turns One

On Saturday, March 10 Peyton Jaycob Perry turned one year old. To Noni, the time since his birth has seemed to fly by. He has grown bigger, developed his very own personality and leaned so much. He is not walking, but he can stand and walk around furniture. He will even stand at the sliding patio door, pounding on the door with no hands holding himself up. He is not really talking, but he will point at Mommy or Daddy or their pictures and say "da da". And he points to almost everything, asking "ga?" which I am convinced means, "tell me what that is called". He recognizes the people he loves, even though he is very social and will go with almost anyone. He will eat almost anything, but may or may not eat too much of it. He is not very excited about formula because until recently he had never had it. But Mommy was starting to ween him and supplementing formula. He is going to be drinking regular milk now that he is a year old. Let me tell you what he really likes to eat: chocolate cake with white frosting. Mommy made him his very own baseball cake for his birthday and he personally ate about half of it. He dug right in starting a little tentatively, and then soon dug right in. He doesn't always sleep through the night. But when he wakes up, he just wants to know that Mommy and Daddy are still there and he is back to sleep. Maybe a little milk and he is in la-la land. He loves to go to the park and swing or feed the ducks, look at the trees or the airplanes, pick up leaves or pieces of grass, go swimming with Mommy and Daddy, take walks in his stroller, crawl all over the place and play with other kids among other things. But the most beautiful thing about this little one is his contagious smile. It lights up his face and makes you feel good.
Brian took Peyton to the Doctor for his one year checkup and shots (Heather just couldn't do it again...watching him get shots is not easy). He was a brave little man and only cried for a second. He now weighs 22.2 pounds (6 lbs, 11 oz at birth), and 29 plus" long (19.5" at birth). He is in the 30th percentile for height, weight and head circumphrence. He is a little guy, but he is symetrical
