My weekend of reunions

I went down to southern California this weekend for Peyton's birthday, but it was a whirlwind of visiting and seeing people I had not seen in a long time. I arrived early Saturday morning. After we got home and visited a few minutes with Kammie, Brian and Heather, Peyton asked if we could go to the park. So off we went, buckets and shovels in hand. We made birthday cakes out of sand, baked them on the slide and blew out the stick candle. Peyton found a little rubber lizard in the park and immediately named him Polka Dot Lizzie. After lunch and naps we got ready for Mommy and Daddy leaving for casino night. Peyton was fine with them leaving. He wanted me to make him tacos which he scarfed up. Kamdyn, on the other hand, was not happy that Mommy had gone. Peyton kept suggesting things to do, but Kammie was having nothing to do with us. Finally we fed her and she fell asleep. I think that the long day at Disneyland the day before may have had something to do with her mood. Peyton and I played trains and watched a movie. The next morning, we got up and started to get things ready for his birthday party. But he and I had to take a little break and do a little jumping in the bounce house before everyone else got there. The party was great as you will see in the publication below.
I left while Peyton was opening his last gifts when Karen DeWitt...neighbor from Rutgers came to pick me up. We took off and met up with Frances Arreguin another Long Beach neighbor. We had a great time catching up from the time we all lived together on Rutgers Avenue, while we were raising our kids.

I came back to meet up with a Charlie Merriam and Sande Ippolito who were at the house waiting for me so that we could meet up with other former "dormmates" Sally Harris (and her daughter Carla), and Anne Preciado. It has probably been 12 years since we all saw each other together, so we had a really nice reunion. And none of us look any older than we did back in college.

All in all, it was a really exciting weekend ... very full and very fun. And it was so good to see Brian and Heather and my two little angels: sweet little Kamdyn who has the easiest smile to crazy Peyton who taught me dance moves, how to jump in a jump house, how to play trains and sand castle builing, and came into my room first thing in the moring to get me up to play.

Glad you had a good time mom. Did you see the map Peyton drew from our house to your house?
